Mini Musicals Documentary

What does a contemplative taxi ride, a self pitying superclock, the ghosts of past presidents, and a murder mystery at an HOA meeting have in common? Well, they are just four of the seven mini-musicals being put on from April 1 to April 14 in the PAC. And for the first time ever, a documentary about the making of the musical is being produced. The idea of creative Writing director, Timothy Gomez and primarily documented by Lauren Blazey and Gabriel Poole.

Creative writing teacher Lauren Blazey is working as the documentary’s editor and has a vision for what she wants to show.  “What I wanted to highlight was that it’s so unique, both for the school and like in general, to write a story and original songs for many musicals and then put them on in like a year. Like not even a full year.  So we [CW Instructor Gabriel Poole] went to the first couple meetings of the class when you guys were talking about just ideas and wearing ideas around. We’ve kinda been following it, like, in chunks from concept to first drafts.”

The documentary will be shown at the end of the year during CSArts Season Finale.
