It’s time for Hoco! And, each year, leadership is tasked with finding a location and theme.
This year, the venue is the Rose Bowl, with the theme being one dedicated to Dolly and the 1950’s.
CSArts’ new Leadership instructor Timothy Gomez says a lot of thought goes into the theme and the location. “They wanted to do a traditional high school thing but like…still art school-ish.” The theme for this year, “Hopelessly Devoted To Hoco,” is much more of strict theme than past years, where it was more of a vibe than a specific aesthetic.
Although CSArts is known for the arts there has been a push to have a sports-themed HOCO in the past few years. “When you are booking a dance, you have to book like a year in advance,” Gomez said. “They wanted something a bit out of the normal…They thought it would be kind of cool and fun to have a sports venue.”
The theme and the location of this years HOCO is obviously a success when looking at ticket sales as this year’s event has sold the most tickets ever! 625 tickets have been sold. That’s 30 more compared to last year!
