Jumping high up in the air and giggling with delight as you land on a pile of crunchy autumn leaves is a common thing for childhood. But as you age, fall becomes less joyful and turns into watching everything die. However, if you want to live fall to the fullest, then there are a few different ways you can romanticise fall.
One of the main characteristics of fall is coziness. As winter comes closer, people tend to gravitate towards sweaters and blankets to prepare for the cold. One of the most common favorite aspects of fall is clothing. “You can get cozy, and the colors are really pretty in fall, and you can wear comfy clothes,” said freshman Lilah Sparks. So this autumn, try a wool sweater or some cute socks to really feel the fall vibe. If you want to get super into it try wearing earthy colors with lots of orange, brown, and red.
Another fascinating thing about fall is what it represents. Fall is often associated with death, but it’s also about moving on and getting out with the old. Cleaning out and organizing your life is a great way to help move on.
Fall is also a good time to see family and friends with the various holidays.
“I just love dressing up as the things I love and going out and seeing other people’s costumes. And Thanksgiving is a good reminder of family and how good food is,” said sophomore Kayla Mosley.
Many people share similar sentiments about the season, being grateful for the opportunities for connection. Thinking about your holiday plans and how you plan to appreciate those you love is an excellent way to bring joy into your autumn. Enjoy fall in your own way, and focus on the good parts, whatever that is for you.
